Hi. Are you sitting down as you read this? That’s great! It will get you in the mood for reading about a chair. This chair would like if you were sitting on it, in particular, but it is also a pretend cartoon animal, so it is ok!
Chairby is from moon, which has been discussed here once before, but if you are not familiar, it is a deconstruction of RPGs, where you explore the world after the “hero” has gone through it, looting houses and slaying “monsters”. But these are no monsters, and in fact the game calls them Animals, since that’s what they are! They are just creatures! Chairby is just a creature.
But Chairby is dead :( just like nearly every other animal, Chairby has been slain, and its corpse remains. This is the saddest it has ever made me to see a chair that was not alive. But do not worry, because this is where the player comes in, with the ability to capture animals’ lingering souls, return them, and save the creatures!
Chairby is a simple creature, as you would probably expect a chair to be. It is a big fan of the “sitting” activity, and if it sees someone sitting, it thinks, “but why are you not sitting upon me, Chairby?” This passion has remained in its restless soul, but all you have to do is sit near Chairby’s body, and the spirit will appear to offer its services (its one service) (sitting). It will scooch closer until it can be caught and saved!
I love Chairby! This thing is literally a chair, with eyes. But it is so cute! And it just wants to do what a chair does best! Best of all, it is an Animal. A chair is already like an animal, with its four legs! And four-legged animals are already like chairs, with their four legs. You can even sit on a horse. Like a chair! I would love to sit on Chairby, even if I did not feel like sitting at the moment, because it would make Chairby happy!
